What do you guys use for a sighter target ?     Do you use the same target  for chunk and table shoots?
Post them if you have them.
Are there any online pics ?

thanks,

My usual procedure is to aim at the center of the bull. Not a 6 0'clock hold as I do on some other targets.
The three shot holes usually are at 4 o'clock.  maybe I jerk. The sun moving can sure make a difference, even with shaders.
I place each target behind the 3 holes, X is centered the best I can between holes, , and keep my point of aim at the center of the bull.
If all goes well, the shot placement will be in the group of 3.
  Or way out there.

Can you build one? It doesn't have to be pretty.   a Chambers Ketland is lightning fast.   .Some competitions won't allow a coil spring lock.    I once shot with Goodien who was shooting a flinter still  in the white, the pins stuck out about 1/2 inch on either side.  Other good shooters had guns that  had holes up and down the bbl where various sights  had been tried and removed .and the stock looked like it went thru a tornado, but these guys knew how they shot.  Bed whatever bbl you choose....

just a thought.

Greets...Log shoot Sat. and I have a .055 width front sight and need to figure out what that width I would need for a sighter at 60 yds.    I want for the sight to cover the vertical exactly at 60 yds. How wide do you think  this needs to be  4"  ? ?   I can't seem to have success with  circles.     I am thinking of a kinda upside down T shape ? ?  It is forecast for rain everyday this week until Sat.  so maybee I can't make it out to check on this.  I thought somewhere someone had some figures on this.

 Howdy all.
From reading several gun forums it appears the tv show Iron and Fire is less than perfect for most traditionalists, there is sooo much criticism.  However, if you care, you can send the producers complaints/suggestions. How can we improve this experience?Select a category to send us an email.

Howdy Hookie....  Way to go.  For pure fun I like silhouette gongs .  The bad thing about some paper shoots is the top guys win all the prizes.  I know they deserved them,  but it does keep many average guys from participating.  The trick is to have something for the plinkers who come just for the camaraderie. It looks like you have fun for all.

I am  also nearly completing a Hawken, DeHass 36" tapered bbl.  .45 cal.   I used the one piece patent breech.  It needs a nose cap and sights.

Also I have the parts assembled for a Leman Trade Rifle,   .45 ,  GM bbl. for my next project.
I will have my Harley guy turn down the bbl to oct. to round.
