congratulation to Dave Krumme on his 1.85   10 shot string at coon farm    he won best x and cut seven x     a whole bunch of us were questioning  who would be first to break 2 inches and  what range      now that is settled  
Dave used a Dehass 45 cal barrel and used 2 ff swiss dave had 3 Dehass barrels new in safe from 15 years ago  .i snaked him out of one and shoots great.

  looks like some one will really have to shoot lights out Sunday or Dave will be the Indiana  state champion    
Way to go Dave  .now go win back the low chunk score

remember if you use a diopter as  you change the size.  to  go smaller hole your spotter  will get smaller .

I thought the breech snail  plug  issue was only with the cap hooked breech guns. they have a big deep recess in the plug face  then small hole  in bottom of the recess back to nipple. that ball will  go into before the rifling starts -the smaller ball aka 32 the worse the problem.i wanted to make a change barrel for my gun and was told all about it from  don getz and mark dehass.. your flint should have   a flat  faced solid plug and  touch hole. any barrel maker should whip out a new barrel fore you to semi drop in tour Hawkins. again as other gentlemen have pointed out the weight of 15/16 .do what I was told . get you a new/used  gun that is set up for small caliber  . you will be lot happier

my big club is having the same problem. around 100 member and 75% are over 65  .the kids I know sort of shoot .want to go shooting with dad put a 30 round clip in the m16 or 22 semi auto and then just pull the trigger as fast as they can no aiming.computer gaming has flat pucked up 4 generations of kids for doing anything .shooting muzzle loaders is slow and requires lots of  practice .now try flint.kids don't want nothing to do with it. no instant gratification  or kool factor

very fine gun  dont shoot next to krumme or disboro they love side locks.they would drool on it to much. as for your firing problem make sure the hammer face is hitting the cap square..that is not a uncommon problem .had to fix 2 of my own guns .next don't try and shoot the front sight dead on the black. leave a little white will help on the stringing. the bevel brothers and paul Griffith put a 1 1/2 wide - as long as blacksquare-   strip of  fluorescent orange under the black they shot when orange could not be seen

buy a set of premade paul Griffith style  with ball front sight from robin warner. that is the hot set up over 75% of chunk shooters u8se them and almost all the top shooter . love  your lock. leave losts of wood on top of comb till you get your sights on and shoot it. no fun after gun is finished realizing to combs to short. you did great going with nice wide gentle curved butt plate.

robin you out did yourself on the bench .tom and dawn sent me pictures of it. i have never saw a  lazered  picture on  the marble.took one look at the big wounderfull picture of my buddy with his ball hat -mustach and barn coat and started snivling.outstanding job and very  well done for all involved.someone please  have a drink and smoke  stoggie on the bench for me.a

paul griffith and a bunch of top chunk shooters  i know used drop of dawn dish soap in small bottle of water .used it for yeaqrs myself.works great.they used it for cleaning between shots and final cleaning.i like the lps2 .used it for years .works great lots of oil in it
