Over under "Table Shoots" I responded to a request about working with some woods and whether they are bad for you. Since not everyone might pick that up, I'm putting a bit over here.
In a nutshell, wood dust is bad for you. It's not all the same, but basically bad. Take simple steps. Good air circulation can help. Always wear at least a dust mask. Wash your hands. After dust exposure, change your clothes and shower. Remove splinters and slivers immediately since some go septic quickly.
Googling "wood toxicity" or the name of the wood plus the word "toxicity" will pull up specific info. Here's a link. It may seem like information overload, but it's a place to start.
You have to scroll down for the chart.
This one is a little more extensive and a little easier to understand.

Kermit,
Good information and not something that everyone thinks about. Thank you.
