Old Farm Shooters Chamois Missouri.

There are a couple of OFS members on this site so if I'm wrong just correct me.
OFS has been shooting every Sunday for years and years. They miss a few Sundays during deer season and on holidays like Mothers Day and a couple of others. They shoot from September thru May most years.
They are very similar to a table shoot match but they do shoot off benches, round ball and open sights, no peeps and no shaders allowed. They are shooting 60yrds at a one inch circle worth 13 points, then each circle from there on out is 1/2 and worth 12, 11, 10 and etc. down to 6 or so.
For the match, they start shooting for score promptly at 2pm. It's a 3 shot match at a 3" white circle on a solid background of black felt paper. Take your place at the bench and shoot. Your target is looked at and scored then recorded on the score sheet then the next shooter sits and shoots while you are reloading. There is generally a 5 or 6 man line behind the 2 benches they have.
Top score is 39 (three 13's). They give out meat prizes. Almost all winning scores are 35 and above. Ties are broken in a couple of ways. First there's how your shots are shot. A score of 13, 13, 12 beats out a score of 13,12,13 then next would be 12, 13, 13.  If they shoot the same then a tie shot is taken. I know clear as mud.
They give prizes back a long way generally to about 10th place.
The report today had the winner shooting a 38 for first place. They will shoot next Sunday with the meat board going up at 2 o'clock sharp.

I'll be quiet now .......

Re: Old Farm Shooters Chamois Missouri.

Congratulations go to the young man that shot a 38 today at The Old Farm Shoot.
There was a terrible wind from the NW at about 20mph and gusts near 35.
He sure did an excellent job of reading the wind.

Re: Old Farm Shooters Chamois Missouri.

No shooting at Charlie's Old Farm yesterday. It was spitting snow most of the day and temperatures didn't get above 12º or so and sitting and getting ready to watch the big game was just too inviting.
The way the forecast looks it may be a Sunday or two before the next shoot. Come on warmer weather!

Re: Old Farm Shooters Chamois Missouri.

A big congratulations to the young man that shot a 38 out of 39 for first place at Charlie's Old Farm shoot today. It was shot on a cloudy misty day. There were 28 shooters.
This was the first match since the cold weather started some weeks ago and brought the shooting to a halt.

Three things you must remember while target shooting. (1) Align the sights carefully. (2) Squeeze the trigger. (3) Say how did it get over there. http://prwarner.wix.com/mlts-masters
