Sorry for being so slow to put this up, everyone, although I think I have talked to most of the guilty parties... This is "for the record" -- there are prizes for the top three shooters and the best X of the year, and they will be awarded with substantial pomp and circumstance at the first Bryan Station Table Match of 2021.
Due to the unusual nature of the 2020 season, we used the best two strings (of a possible 3) rather than the intended 3 of 5. The Top 3 Shooters were:
1. Bob Grim 3.732"
2. Carl King 5.2375"
3. Don Ross 5.634"
Bobby also shot the shortest string of the year: 1.766", making him hard to beat. Carl and Don kept the heat on him though, and Don's finish is especially impressive given that he was only able to shoot twice, and thus he didn't have a score to throw away. 6 shooters this year turned in strings in the 2's (<3.0") at least once this year: Bob, Carl, Bo, Don, Sterling, Dave Krumme, Dave Collier, and Bill Disbro. Everyone shot very well in 2020!
The Best X of 2020 goes to Don Ross, with an X that received a nominal measure of 0.001" but could just as well have been called perfect.
There's no season's award for the 50 yard pot shot, but Sterling Martin deserves mention as winner in 2 of the three matches of 2020. He had 2 in a row (August and September) also.
The table matches we were able to have were some of the high points of 2020 -- thanks to everyone for your serious shooting and not so serious company at our shoots, and we hope you all are planning to participate again in 2021!
