What a great day for a table shoot, low 80's, very low humidity, no breeze to mention and 27 shooters ready to enjoy the day.
This may go down in the history books as the largest number of shooters ever at a match. I know I have never been to one with that many before, close but not equal to the number that showed up Sunday.
When the smoke settled there were some phenomenal targets posted.
Top 5 strings were:
1. Bobby Grimm. 2.264"
2. Bill Disbro. 2.824"
3. Dave Krumme. 3.190"
4. Bo Courtney. 3.510"
5. Steve Brown 3.959"
If Bobby Grimm's last shot had matched the other 9 he would have shot below 2". He had 1.776" for the first 9 shots. SO CLOSE !!
Best X went to Bill Disbro with 0.056".
If you add up the first place scores for the 10 matches you have a string measure of 1.135".
In the first match the first 4 places were:
1. .056"
2. .076"
3. .079"
4. .137"
6 of the 10 matches were won by shots under .100".
The competition was very intense all match long. A really great bunch of competitors enjoying a day out.
As always Tom and Dawn Swigert hosted a great shoot, there was lots of good food and fellowship to enjoy.
Thanks to all the Blue Jacket Muzzleloaders members that took care of all the shoot details and made the day so enjoyable.
Lastly thanks to all of the shooters who traveled from near and far to participate. Indiana, Ohio,Kentucky and West Virginia were represented. And a special thanks to Brittany Arnold, a young lady that shot her first table match Sunday. It's good to see some young people showing up and shooting. Hope she enjoyed her day and comes back again to shoot with us.
