Log rest?

Anyone use a log for a rest? I've seen them in some pictures. What should I look for in choosing a log for a rest. Thanks! ned

Re: Log rest?

I’ve shot on a log at some shoots. They usually had one that was different heights to suit most of the shooters.

I would find one that was flat on the top and bottom so it wouldn’t roll or move, and also the correct height for you.

Re: Log rest?

When I have my shoots I pull a 25 to 30 foot log out in the field, just find a spot that the higith suits you. Its as stable a rest as you can get

Re: Log rest?

Thanks, I was thinking about a log standing on end. Copper Hill That's the idea!

Three things you must remember while target shooting. (1) Align the sights carefully. (2) Squeeze the trigger. (3) Say how did it get over there. http://prwarner.wix.com/mlts-masters
