Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

The next table shoot at Allen Coon's is the Indiana  State Table Shoot on May 12 & 13, 2018. I plan to be there. Hope to see you all there too.

Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

Y'all shoot straight and have a good time.

Regrettfully I won't make either day, I am in Harrisburg, PA for the Pennsylvania Interstate Flintlock Shoot. Kentucky's Corps of Longriflemen has a five man team here.

Hopefully I will see some of you next Saturday at Wilmore or the following Saturday at Morehead.

Shoot good!

Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

I’m leaving at 4am to try and get there on time. This will be my first real table shoot.

Just found out I can’t use Teflon coated patches, so I’ll need to try and work up a load and regular patch combo in my new rifle, today.

Hope to get ideas for holding table shoots at our range in central Illinois.

Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

If you click on Table Shoots and go down about 9 or 10 post you will find a post on Teflon patch
and open class, tells you what you need to know.

Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

I was told by the shoot hosts, that no Teflon was allowed. I’ll bring both types.

Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

I would like to thank the Coon family, Robin, and everyone I met this past weekend , for a great time at the Indiana State Table shoot. The food was great, and everyone was helpful and friendly. I learned more about table shooting in one weekend than I could have learned in a lifetime on my own. Great bunch of people!

Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

Thanks Okawbow for your report and picture.
Seems like most shoots have great people to learn from.
I'm still trying to settle on a date for a shoot sometime in late June now. It's hard to work around my and other peoples schedules. Guess I'll just pick a date and run with it.

Glad you enjoyed your venture.

Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

Chuck,

Glad to hear you had a great time at the Indiana State Shoot.

The whole gang up there are indeed fine folks and very helpfull.

I heard rumor that that you shot very well despite the wind. 22 shooters for the 2 days, that's a great turnout.

Shoot straight,

Carl

Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

Carl,
Chuck not only shot great, he showed us all how it's done. It was a very good weekend, outside of the wind, clear skies and few clouds. Some of us just have to re learn what we once thought we knew.

Re: Next Table Shoot at Coon Farm

Mark,

I talked to Bill Disbro this morning and he said a 2.1" string won.

That is a phenominal score in the wind y'all had,it would be a fantastic score on a calm day !!!

Sounds like this table shooting thing is becoming extremely competitive, folks are taking it very seriously for sure.

Sounds like y'all had a great championship shoot.

Hope to see a few of you in the coming weeks either at Wilmore, KY at Morehead, KY or up at Xenia, OH.

Shoot straight,

Carl
