Sergeant Alvin C York Memorial shoot results soon to be posted

Hello everyone
Back home again in Indiana from the Alvin York shoot. As soon as my behind resume round, I will be posting the results sometime later this evening. Just a spoiler alert hear Charlie Bowers is your new Sergeant York 2018 champion. Grayson Williams is your new 2018 youth champion. Stay tuned for more and we will when I post tell you about all the wonderful rain and mud and the 83 brave souls out of 148 registered shooters that actually pulled triggers and stood the test thanks to everybody that came especially thanks to my lovely bride londean, Annie Dean, Allen Shourbs, Mitch Warner Grayson Williams, Vivian Moore, Barb Dillsboro, Carrie, Mister Rat, and a couple others I will try to remember in my next report for helping scoring range officer and making the shoot go off very smoothly but most thanks to the shooters for cooperating and having a successful yet very damp shoot. I'll check in with you later so long for now Robin

Thanks Robin and all the others who made this memory filled shoot in spite of miserable conditions. I was one of those who allowed a few sprinkles to scare me away from shooting. Will be back next year with a tougher attitude and a gun that's sighted in.

I had fun, got soaked and due to range officering did not have to lay down in the mud. It was a good adventure.

Re: Sergeant Alvin C York Memorial shoot results soon to be posted

Hello all,
This year was my first time ever shooting in the York Memorial. I had a great time even though the weather did not quite work out for the best. Those that were there experienced a rainy, overcast cold day in the mud. We saw rain, crazy wind, hail, lightning, trucks pulling trucks and a tractor pulling a van out of the water soaked field.  I think the only thing we didn't see that day was the sun and snow.

I do not know of how many countless hours that go into the preperation for this match. I'm not sure of how many people are involved to make this shoot happen and continue to happen year after year. What I do know is with the size of crowd (even bigger if the weather would have been better) this match was run really well.  A big "Thank you" goes out to all that put in time and energy to make this shoot take place.

I borrowed my uncle's gun for this match and was very lucky on how and where I placed when all was over and the shots were measured. I placed 4th out of the 83 shooters that braved the weather and played in the mud that day. I can say I was the blind squirrel of the day. I think luck edged out my skill that day. You know what they say, I would rather be lucky than good.

Thank you again for a great shoot and I will see you there next year.

Three things you must remember while target shooting. (1) Align the sights carefully. (2) Squeeze the trigger. (3) Say how did it get over there. http://prwarner.wix.com/mlts-masters
