30 Yard Chunk Gun Practice

Got a little 30 yard chunk gun practice in this morning.  Still working on load and still have a ways to go.

Yes, I started chasing after shot #3.  There's a few practice shots on my spotter
target as well.  I think I like the upside-down black "V" better as a spotter.
Anyway, 5 shots = 4-7/16 inches (poor) especially from 30 yards, but I'm still working this rifle
out.  I should be ready regardless by the end of September for our local club match, which
we'll shoot from 50 yards.  I'm just trying to get my sight picture and form down right now,
along with some load work.

Today's Load -  55g 2fg Goex, 1" - mink oiled .018 pillow ticking patch - .395 Hornady ball, RWS Cap, Sight Shades.

Just curious, why 30 yds?

That's pretty much it.

Re: 30 Yard Chunk Gun Practice

Hi,
I am following your progress with your .40 with lots of interest. What is the best 5 shot group you have had with the 2f at any range ? 30yd or 50 yd or even 60yd. I am hoping to shoot on weds maybe I will have some news for you.

Here's my best 5 shot group to date; (1-16th spread) from 50 yards - 65 grains 2fg) And it was the last five shots taken that day -  so it is an actual 5 shot group shot continuously.

Three things you must remember while target shooting. (1) Align the sights carefully. (2) Squeeze the trigger. (3) Say how did it get over there. http://prwarner.wix.com/mlts-masters
