patch sizing

 Bought some pillow ticking..wow...$8.00 a yard.  http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/cry.png
Everyone seems to say wash patching to remove the sizing.  What is your purpose for that ?

Re: patch sizing

I do really know exactly just what the "sizing" is but removing it makes the material softer and wraps around the ball better I think? I have shot them both ways and never really did see much difference. It appears to me that the Teflon coated material that you can buy is simply sprayed over material that has not been washed. Just my opinion and I might be wrong about that. Try it both ways and see? And report back curious minds want to know?

One good shot doesn't make a match but one bad shot dang sure can ruin a match!

Re: patch sizing

I may be all wrong but I think sizing is like a form of starch. Washing gets rid of it and softens up the patch material.

Three things you must remember while target shooting. (1) Align the sights carefully. (2) Squeeze the trigger. (3) Say how did it get over there. http://prwarner.wix.com/mlts-masters
