I have been talking to Robin for a while about having a shoot and even longer about having a squirrel camp. As my wife's health progresses downward and I have to stay closer to home why not bring a shoot closer to home. Also a group has been asking about having a shotgun shoot.
The shoot was named during a late night planning session late this summer and is a holding group for insurance.
My interest in over the log shooting goes way back. Localy my Great Grand father was a noted turkey shooter using a half stock heavy barreled 29 cal caplock. Currently there are 15-20 who have commited to the shoot, several have tried table shooting once and want to shoot more of it. Come on down and see if all of us can have fun.

I was very much wondering that myself.

The American Historical Rifle Association. We are a fledgling upstart group, that are starting our shoots with muzzle loading rifle competitions. It is our hope as we grow to expand into other historical rifles such as the black powder cartridge, 03 Springfield and the M1 Garran and others, all which would be shot with cast bullets. The shoot you’re seeing advertised, is our first shoot it will be held about 40 minutes or so from Rockport Indiana.
Our desire is to stay very old-school in the type of shooting we do as you will see on the flyer which there is a link to on the forum. We will be having a barnyard Trap shoot: which will involve two throwers hidden behind bales of hay and remotely triggered. Will also be having true over the log shoot which will be shot in the prone position unless there is a physical reason the individual cannot lay down. There’ll also be a table shoot and woods walk all will be shot with muzzle loading rifle’s.
