Re: Sight mount

Does anyone use the Lyman SML 57 sight on thier rifles? I am having a lot of trouble with this sight and can't solve my problems. Seems the clip holding the elevation screw keeps falling out. I've discovered that my local NAPA store stocks E Clips that are close enough to size that I can file and stone them enough to fit but the really aren't right and are a pain to keep the proper tensioning on the elevation screw to work properly.. I have bought more of the correct clips from Lyman to no avail. Because if you have to adjust your sights often, as I do,  pretty soon I discover the clip is gone and my scores plummet. I shoot competition 25,50,and 100 yards and change sight settings to compensate for distances. I don't adjust my powder charge. I'd love to find another decent sight.

Thanks,

Kcajeel

Re: Sight mount

I use 57SML sights on several target rifles and have never had a problem. You have bought new clips from Lyman but have you spoken to them about your problem? They may have a fix or even fix it for you.

Three things you must remember while target shooting. (1) Align the sights carefully. (2) Squeeze the trigger. (3) Say how did it get over there. http://prwarner.wix.com/mlts-masters
