Wannabe over the log shooter from Southern Illinois

Hi all
Went to an over the log shoot in October, at Jimtown, Indiana. Shot my self made York Co. Flintlock, and did ok, placing somewhere in the top 1/3 rd.

This was my first over the log shoot, and now I'm interested in doing more. I've managed to get a Getz 1 1/4" x 54", 48 cal. Barrel. I plan to make a chunk gun with a home made mule ear lock.

Any advice you can give me about building the rifle, sights, or anything else related, would be appreciated.

Chuck,
I'm not the one to give advice on a chunk gun build but I'm certain that a number of our members will be along any time now. Top 13 with an offhand rifle is doing pretty well.

Three things you must remember while target shooting. (1) Align the sights carefully. (2) Squeeze the trigger. (3) Say how did it get over there. http://prwarner.wix.com/mlts-masters
